Why convert to waterless urinals?
With sustainability a top priority for every business, and water scarcity an increasing problem, converting to a 100% waterless system is becoming increasingly preferred.
How do waterless urinals work?
Providing an effective way of saving water and reducing energy consumption, they offer a far more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional water flushing fixtures. Fitted with state-of-the-art technology, they are also more sanitary than water-flushing urinals.
Rather than using water to dispose of waste, waterless urinals let the power of gravity carry urine out of the fixture and through the waste pipework. Cleverly designed, each urinal is fitted with a waterless urinal trap that creates a seal against foul odours from the drain. This trap allows urine to pass into the plumbing system, and it prevents unpleasant odours from coming back up into the washroom. The cartridge on top of the urinal waste outlet acts as a buffer and stops debris from entering the pipes, it also reduces the chances of blockages by helping to break down the formation of uric salts and crystallization. This, consequently, improves the user experience.
With no flushing required, the touch-free mechanism of waterless urinals prevents the spreading of germs. In addition, while flushing conventional urinals can release harmful bacteria into the air when trap seals evaporate, waterless urinals are designed to be completely “dry” between uses.

Retro-fit solutions are readily available through a number of selected channel partners, distributors and OEMs. The Group also provides retro-fit solutions as an end-to-end solution, encompassing installation, planned maintenance and reactive support.
Urinal Maintenance Materials
WhiffAway Group manufactures maintenance materials for a number of leading brands in the category.
Maintenance materials include replacement Waterless Urinal Cartridges, valves, keys and auxiliary fittings amongst others.
These products are readily available directly, as a serviced solution, or through selected channel partners, distributors and OEMs.
Waterless Urinal Adaptors
Both Waterless Urinals and Reduced Flushing Systems have been historically perceived negatively. This is primarily due to the type of technology utilised, including how these systems are installed and the maintenance practices adopted thereafter.
A number of these systems do not functionally overcome common urinal problems such as odours and blockages, and result in generally poor washroom hygiene.
For those who have made the strategic decision to go waterless and are not satisfied with the results, we have developed a range of adaptors to retro-fit functionally inferior waterless and reduced flushing systems, therefore avoiding the costly need to revert back to conventional water flushing, or change the fabric of the washroom.
All Waterless Urinal Adaptors are tried and tested and conform to relevant code.
